The images of the devastation and the many dead bodies from Butja shocked the world after Russian forces left the Ukrainian city in April. Hundreds of dead civilians were found in the city after the Russian advance, several of the dead appearing to have been executed.
Something that is confirmed by surveillance images that the news agency AP together with the American TV channel PBS have now seen. The pictures show how nine men walk in line. With their heads bowed, they are led to their execution by Russian soldiers. Only one of the nine men survived, by pretending that he died too.
