What is being billed as the region’s largest job fair is taking place over three days this month in Brantford and Brant and Norfolk counties.
“The Grand Erie Aspire Job Fair is a great opportunity for anyone looking for work inside and outside the skilled trades to connect with many employers who are eager to hire,” said Akosua Alagaratnam, executive director of First Work, one of the organizers. “First Work is excited to work with community partners in the Grand Erie region to expand opportunities to these rewarding jobs.”
Here is the schedule:
• Nov. 15, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Best Western Brantford Hotel and Conference Centre, 19 Holiday Dr., Brantford;
• Nov. 16, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Delhi German Hall, 443 James St., Delhi;
• Nov. 17, 4 pm to 8 pm, Exhibition Hall at Paris fairgrounds, 139 Silver St., Paris.
More than 100 employers are participating over the three days.
The event is organized by First Work’s Aspire and community partners, including employment services, schools, local chambers of commerce and the Workforce Planning Board of Grand Erie.
Organizers say job seekers will have a chance to meet local companies from different industries who are hiring for a variety of occupations in the trades and outside the trades.
Job seekers can also learn about the community supports available in the area, including local employment services. There will also be representatives from local schools highlighting available job training and courses.
People are not required to register in advance, but it is encouraged.
