Do you no longer want to see the publications of some of your contacts on Instagram? Use mute mode to hide them discreetly, without blocking them.
By default, your Instagram feed displays photos and stories from everyone you follow. But some content is probably less exciting than others. And you may want to hide them systematically, without blocking their authors… Don’t worry, you’re not alone in this situation and Instagram offers a very useful function to stop seeing certain publications: mute mode.
How does Instagram’s mute mode work?
The mute mode – Mute in English – allows you to hide the publications or stories of an Instagram account that you follow, without blocking it or unsubscribing from it.
This function has several advantages. First of all, the contact whose content is hidden is not informed – no need to get angry with a loved one! Additionally, mute can be applied to either posts only, stories only, or both. Then, the mute mode does not prevent you from going to see the publications or the stories directly, when you want, by going to the account in question. Nor to discuss with the contact, his account not being blocked. Finally, the mute mode is not definitive, the function can be deactivated at any time.
