08:17 – Conquering France!
It’s the break at Eden Park in Auckland and France spoils the New Zealand party by leading the score (17-10). Perfectly entered into their match, the Blues immediately took the advantage in scoring never to let go again, carried by their suffocating and aggressive defense. If we feared a decline at the end of the first act with Fluhler’s test at the end of the line, Vernier came to register the second tricolor test, the first having been the work of Romane Ménager, after a new sequence perfectly recited behind a flawless conquest. Well in place, solid on the fundamentals and in the fight, the French leave no space to the Black Ferns, unable to pack this semi-final.
08:16 – Drouin makes the conversion (17-10)
Facing the posts, 10 meters away, Drouin has no problem passing the transformation and giving Les Bleues a 7-point lead.
08:15 – Vernier try (15-10)!
The response from the French did not take long. Just before the break, Vernier comes to conclude the good sequence of his partners. After a successful touchdown and a penetrating maul, Ménager created a fixation under the posts before the cross concluded in force flush with the left post, sinking Bremner. Les Bleues regain the lead (15-10).
08:14 – Penalty for the Blues
On the New Zealand attack, Sochat pinned the opposing ball carrier to the ground and gleaned a penalty about thirty meters away. Drouin goes into touch in the 22 meters.
08:11 – New Zealanders try (10-8)!
The French are penalized with a free kick under their posts following the scrum. Cocksedge plays fast, alert Demant who opens wide on the left. His jump pass overflows the tricolor defense and Fluhler escapes Boulard to score the first try for the Black Ferns (10-8).
08:08 – Another error from Drouin
From his in-goal, Drouin makes the referral but it is directly in touch, which is prohibited. It will therefore be a scrum to follow for the Black Ferns 5 meters from the tricolor line. New Zealand pressure has been increasing for a few minutes.
08:05 – The French do not give in
The New Zealand recovery is formidable and the Black Ferns return to invest the 22 meters tricolor. The sequences are linked with fluidity and an advantage is even consumed until in the closed on the right, Demant launches Fitzpatrick. The center mobilizes three players and wants to give after contact but her pass takes Tui the wrong way. The ball goes into touch.
08:03 – New Zealand’s first points (10-3)
On the 22-yard line, facing the posts, Hermet springs from the defensive line to throw himself on the ball. The French captain loses his support on the ground and concedes a penalty that Holmes is responsible for converting from outside the right (10-3).
08:02 – Vernier comes close to being sent off
Gabrielle Vernier was hot. In defense, the center grabs Tui by the waist and knocks her back. Fortunately for her, she does not accompany the movement which would then have been considered a cathedral veneer. Only penalty for the Black Ferns who go into touch within 22 meters.
08:00 – Drouin misses his raise
After a good challenge on the ground from Bourdon, the ball was recovered by the French. Drouin wants to clear his camp at the foot but his kick goes directly into touch. Throwing for the Black Ferns near the French 40 yards.
07:58 – Drouin converts the try (10-0)!
Under the posts, Drouin did not have the slightest difficulty in successfully converting and giving France a 10-point lead after 24 minutes in this World Cup semi-final (10-0).
07:56 – Ménager try for France (8-0)!
Thunderous start to the match for the French. The conquest in touch is impeccable and the maul progresses towards the in-goal before hearth stopped at two meters. Bourdon comes out for Ménager who in power sinks Hirini and Fluhler to flatten at the foot of the left post (8-0).
07:54 – The conquering Blues
Sochat’s throw is secure in the bottom line and the maul is structured. Bremmer loses his support in front and hinders progress. The advantage is left. The offshore action does nothing and we come back to the penalty. Drouin goes into touch at 5 meters.
07:53 – Holmes hits straight into the sidelines
Another technical error from the New Zealanders. As she came out of her 22 meters, Holmes hits directly into touch. We therefore return to the place of the kick for a touch to throw France.
07:50 – A suffocating defense
The scrum is well negotiated by the French and Bourdon releases the ball for Drouin who taps to follow. Woodman catches and raises by hand. The tricolor defense goes up well and prevents the Black Ferns from gaining speed. At the end of the action, Fluhler is surprised by a pass and, wanting to save the ball, throws it into touch.
07:47 – The blue defense held
The New Zealanders try to react and Mikaele-Tu’u thinks he can flatten in the in-goal but Ferer and Escudero have sacrificed themselves and put their hands up to prevent the try. Nice tricolor defense. Drouin will clear his camp from his in-goal.
07:45 – The aborted blue raise
After a good combination in touch, Hermet comes out from 22 meters in the close but his pass is in the legs of Ferer who commits the forward. On the next scrum, Les Bleues are penalized and Demant insists on touchdown to get closer to the in-goal.
07:43 – Les Bleues miss the touchline
The French defense prevents the New Zealanders from progressing and recovers a new penalty. Problem, Drouin takes too much risk and wants to look for a touch too far. Instead of taking the ball out, she sends it into the arms of Holmes who raises.
07:42 – Household sanctioned on the ground
The French touch continues to work well but this time the game launch goes off the rails. Attacking the black line, Romane Ménager wants to eject his ball but it falls to the ground. There, the third-line taps the ball back and concedes a penalty.
07:40 – Vernier wins a ground penalty
While the New Zealanders try to develop their attack on the width after a good grip, Vernier closes the interval and comes to lock up the Demant. Penalty for the Blues at 45 meters. As before, Drouin goes into touch in the 22 meters.
07:37 – Drouin opens the scoring (3-0)
After an excellent collective sequence of nearly 3 minutes, without any fault being committed, Drouin passes his penalty under the posts and unlocks the counter. France leads 3-0.
07:35 – The tricolor pressure
The French have a perfect start to the match and put the New Zealand defense in great difficulty. Under the posts, they try to pass without success.
