Present in a very strong group F, Morocco hopes to get out of the pools to reach the final phase of the 2022 World Cup.
Present at the World Cup, the Atlas Lions will be in group F of this World Cup along with the Croatian vice world champion, Belgium and Canada. Probably one of the strongest groups of this World Cup in Qatar. For its very first meeting on November 23, Morocco will already play an important match against Luka Modric’s teammates. They will continue four days later against Belgium before perhaps playing a decisive match against Canada on December 1st.
In Qatar, Morocco will participate in its 6th World Cup. The Atlas Lions did not do better than a round of 16 in 1986. As a reminder, the Moroccans won all their matches in Group I of the African zone qualifiers. At the play-offs, they inherited the Democratic Republic of Congo which held them in check in the first leg (1-1), before validating their ticket for Qatar on the return, at home (4-1).
