Harri Heliövaaran an incredible tennis season gets a great climax. Heliövaara and his British partner Lloyd Glasspool secured their place in the ATP final tournament of the top eight pairs of the season. The tournament will be played in Turin from November 13.
The place was secured when Heliövaara and Glasspool beat Australia in the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters tournament of Matthew Ebden and British by Jamie Murray 6–3, 7–6.
– Today we played for big things. It’s a pretty sweet feeling that we managed so well under pressure. We succeeded very, very well in the things we wanted to succeed in, Heliövaara said.
The rise of Heliövaara, 33, who once ended his career and started a new career focusing on doubles in 2017, has been wild and the cooperation with Glasspool has worked excellently. At the turn of the year, Heliövaara was 64th in the world list. Now he is 16th and had time to visit already in 14th place.
– Getting to the ATP final tournament, you can’t believe it. This year started so far back and now we are the fifth ranked couple in the world, at least today. Tears of happiness came after the match, when the place was secured.

Heliövaara and Glasspool have played in seven ATP finals this season, of which they have won one, the ATP500 tournament in Hamburg. In a Masters-level tournament, they now reached the semi-finals for the first time.
In the semi-final of Paris, Heliövaara and Glasspool will meet the pair Wesley Koolhof / Neal Skupski.
