For a long time it was just rumors, but then it became concrete: Criminal Minds has received a series sequel. The new series brings back the old team but waits with one big change on. From now on, a new case will no longer be clarified per episode. Instead, the entire first season tells a continuous story.

And this story has it all, as the first trailer shows. Set against the backdrop of the pandemic, the BAU team will have a network of serial killers confronted. It was built by analyst Elias Voit (Zach Gilford), who not only knows his way around data, but also has an obsession with death.

Criminal Minds ran on CBS from 2005 to 2020. After 15 seasons, however, it was over, before the revival was given the green light by those responsible and breathed new life into the popular crime series. Criminal Minds: Evolution follows the existing continuity of the franchise and can ultimately be counted as the 16th season.

In addition to the original series there are various offshoots. Criminal Minds: Team Red emerged as a spin-off from the 5th season and had 13 episodes. The series Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, which started in 2017, has made it to 26 episodes in two seasons. There is also a Korean version of Criminal Minds.

When will Criminal Minds: Evolution start?

Criminal Minds: Evolution launches on November 24, 2022 in the USA with the streaming service Paramount+. There are two episodes to start with. The remaining eight episodes of Season 1 will be released on a weekly basis. Unfortunately, it is not yet clear when and how the new Criminal Minds series will come to Germany.
