Swedavia’s ten airports had a total of 2.7 million travelers in October. That is slightly less than September’s roughly 2.8 million, but in line with how it has looked in recent months.
“It is clear that, despite an uncertain economic and global situation, we continue to prioritize traveling and the personal meeting – both privately and at work. In the longer term, the clouds of worry may of course affect the demand for travel, but these are effects that we have yet to see haven’t noticed for a long time,” says Jonas Abrahamsson, Swedavia’s president and CEO, in a press release.
Close to 2 million of the travelers traveled abroad. Compared to October last year, the number of travelers has increased by 62 percent. Travel is at 77 percent of the level before the pandemic, in 2019.
Arlanda had 1.8 million of the month’s travelers and the airport was close to annual highs for several days during the autumn holidays.
Spring queue chaos at Arlanda seems to be a thing of the past. For almost 90 percent of the airport’s passengers, the waiting times for the security check were a maximum of 10 minutes.
