A woman with serious knife injuries was found in May on a hotel roof in Malmö. Now a 22-year-old man is on trial for attempted murder, Sydsvenskan reports.

The man allegedly came to the woman’s hotel room to buy sex. When he was refused a certain sexual service, he attacked with a knife and then disappeared from there, according to the indictment.

The woman suffered life-threatening injuries but managed to get out onto the roof and wave her arms so that people in the building opposite could raise the alarm. When the police and ambulance got there, she was unconscious.

DNA traces and fingerprints were secured in the hotel room. The 22-year-old suspect could be located via the contacts he had with the person who booked sex clients for the woman. He was then arrested by the police task force in a place in Småland.

The man denies any crime and says he is not the one seen on the surveillance images from the hotel. He says that he had previously been to the hotel and bought sex, but not in connection with the attack on the woman.
