It will be interesting to know when France will be served. Indeed, the exclusive broadcasting contract signed between HBO and the OCS entity – where we can find series such as The Sopranos, Game Of Thrones, House of the Dragon, Chernobyl, TheWireor Succession – was due to be completed at the end of this year. Why ? Quite simply because the HBO Max streaming service was supposed to arrive here in 2023. However, the merger between WarnerMedia and Discovery last April – which therefore gave birth to the Warner Bros. Discovery – challenged initiated strategies.
The kick-off of THE LAST OF US series on HBO will take place on January 15, 2023!

Result: the house would now aim to deploy a new VOD service bringing together content from both HBO Max and Discovery +. Europe would not have access to it before 2024, which would therefore leave a gap of one year between the end of the agreement between HBO and OCS, and the launch of the new offer from Warner Bros. Discovery. It’s still hard to imagine OCS sitting idly by and not seizing the opportunity to scratch an extra year. So there’s nothing to say that The Last of Us fans will have to reach twelve months before seeing Bella Ramsey (Ellie) and Pedro Pascal (Joel) against the Infected.
We recall that the TV series was written and produced by Neil Druckmann (creator of The Last of Us) and Craig Mazin (Chernobyl).
