Friday the 13th prequel comes from the absolute horror master
As Variety reports, streaming service Peacock and studio A24 are developing a Friday the 13th series called Crystal Lake. Bryan Fuller was signed on as showrunner, producer and screenwriter, which is already a good thing great news is.
Fuller most recently served as showrunner for NBC’s Hannibal series, starring Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen. Although this production never became a commercial hit, Fuller’s vision over 3 seasons was all the more impressive bulky horror monster with artful nightmare imagesthat are deeply etched in my memory.
One can only hope that Fuller gets to fully live out his distinctive style from Hannibal for the Friday the 13th series. Story details does not exist yet. The only thing that is certain is that Crystal Lake will delve into Jason Vorhees’ past. It remains to be seen what unforgettable horror impressions this will create at best.
