Government, from Covid to justice: the issues on the table of the CdM

DEF Thursday in CdM for approval

(Finance) – The Council of Ministers has begun at Palazzo Chigi: on the agenda a single decree with urgent justice, postponement of the entry into force of the criminal reform and life imprisonment, Covid, with the anticipation of the end of the vaccine obligation for health professionals, but also the close on public gatherings such as rave parties. Also awaited list of undersecretaries while the theme is missing – contrary to what has been announced in recent days dear bills.

In the spotlight the issue of justice with a decree to keep the so-called ‘life imprisonment’, considered by the Meloni government “an essential tool” in the fight against organized crime. A postponement to the end of the year for the entry into force of some provisions of the Cartabia Reform.

But the Meloni government is ready to mark a turnaround with respect to the previous experience also in the management of the pandemic. In fact, the CDM is preparing to approve the advanceo 1 November of the expiry of the vaccination obligation for those who practice the health profession and the stop of the sanctions for those who have not respected the obligation.

Interventions that – it is underlined by Palazzo Chigi – want to “follow up on the indication traced by President Meloni in his programmatic statements made in Parliament” thus marking “a first act of discontinuity, with respect to the previous executives”.

On the question, however, they immediately warm up spirits. “We hope that the government decides that vaccinations are mandatory for medical and nursing staff. It would be unacceptable to force perhaps bedridden patients to be treated by unvaccinated personnel. It would be – yes – a form of violence against the most fragile “, this is the request of the Governor of Campania, Vincenzo De Luca.
