When the unions in industry present the common wage demand ahead of the 2023 collective bargaining, they request 4.4 percent in wage increases.
– We see that, overall, there are good reasons to switch up the pace of wage increases, says union president of Sweden’s Engineers Ulrika Lindstrand.
But it is important that the pace of wage growth does not drive the pace of wage growth further, she adds. Otherwise, the industrial unions will present additional provisions for part-time and flexible pensions, an agreement period of one year and a minimum wage investment of SEK 1,600.
– Considering how it looks now, it is important to protect them with the lowest wages, says Marie Nilsson, chairman of IF Metall.
The constellation Trade unions in the industry includes the LO unions IF Metall, Livs, and GS (the forest and wood union) as well as the white-collar unions Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer.
