The suspension bridge over the Machchhu River in Morbi city of Gujarat state of India collapsed at around 18:30 local time yesterday. It was stated that the number of deaths increased to 141 as a result of the collapse of the bridge, which is estimated to contain approximately 400 people. In the statement made by the authorities, it was stated that at least 177 people were rescued in the incident and the search and rescue efforts were continuing.
Security camera footage of the incident appeared. In the footage recorded by the bystanders, it was seen that people were holding on to the collapsed bridge and screaming for help, while some fell into the water.
