Archbishop Antje Jackelén has laid down the staff at a service in Uppsala Cathedral. She turned 67 this summer and is retiring after eight years as archbishop. In her farewell service, she stuck to the theme of living together.
– An ingeniously simple description of what life is all about, says Jackelén.
The theme was also marked by the fact that various faith communities from both Sweden and other countries participated in the high mass. Her successor, Martin Modéus, is received in a service on the second Sunday of Advent in Uppsala Cathedral.
