In Ukraine, shelling of civilian targets continues. The people must prepare for continued war and a difficult winter. The families in the garages think they will be fine – they have enough food and fuel. In the garage there is running water, heating and a generator in reserve.
– We rarely hear the explosions, it’s mostly mum and dad who hear them. When we wake up, we just fall asleep again, says daughter Alina.
Their apartment is a few hundred meters away. The cat and the birds live there. They go there every day to shower, wash and feed the animals. Svitlana explains that she values life too highly to stay in the apartment when the bombs fall.
