Gunde Svan is truly one of Swedish sport’s really big profiles.
And we’ll never forget when the ski icon had the laugh of all time in “Time Out”.
Several years later, he reveals the truth behind the classic images – and the forgotten giant miss.
It is now classic television history. When the ski icon Gunde Swan guested on TV4’s comedy program “Time out” and offered one of the most insane laugh attacks of all time.
Gunde’s laugh
The hit program ran between the years 2003-2012 and became a real viewer favorite where the Swedish humor elite was invited to joke about sports and every week sports profiles were also invited to do their best. When it comes to humor, Gunde Svan with his lovely laugh is of course a dream guest.

Miss Giant on TV
But it would develop into a pure laugh fest and Svan could barely breathe due to such an intense fit of laughter. Several years later when the Swedish skiing legend was a guest on another TV4 program “Hellenius hörna” he was confronted with the famous Time out clip again, see the video below.

This time the truth behind the laughing fit is revealed, see it below, and what was not actually shown on the TV screen. Because it was cut when Gunde Svan suddenly fell off the chair in his laugh show and he himself also admits to a huge miss.
– We never solved it… The problem was that the person we were supposed to figure out didn’t even exist. It was misspelled, says Gunde, who is then told that this was not the case at all, but that he really existed.
– Was it so? I haven’t figured that out yet…
– Now it was even more fun!, replies the presenter David Hellenius.

But we actually have to give Gunde Svan the right, because the middle distance runner from South Africa is not actually called that. The ski icon is absolutely right that the name was misspelled in Time out, his name is in fact Hezekiel Sepeng.
