Five people are charged with serious blue light sabotage after the Easter coup and events in the Skäggetorp district in Linköping on April 14, the police write. One of the five is also charged with violence against an official.
Several police officers and vehicles were injured in the incident and one vehicle was set on fire. Protective equipment was also destroyed. New riots then took place on 17 April.
“The indictment is the first regarding the crimes on April 14 and is a result of a large number of interviews with the police officers who participated in the operation as well as a review of the photo and film material available from the incident,” comments the investigation leader John Skoog.
A large number of people have been convicted in the district court and the court of appeal since the Easter coup, which took place in the wake of the far-right politician Rasmus Paludan’s held or planned gatherings in several Swedish cities.
