(Finance) – The German economy accelerates in the third quarter of the year. According to the preliminary estimate of theFederal Statistical Office (Destatis)GDP should have recorded an increase of 0.3% on a quarterly basis in the third quarter of 2022, above the consensus estimates (-0.2%) and compared to the + 0.1% recorded in the previous three months.
Economic performance in the third quarter was mainly driven by private consumption expenditure.
Over yearthe figure corrected for the effects of the calendar marks a + 1.1% also in this case higher than the analysts’ estimates (+ 0.7%) and after the + 1.7% recorded in the 3rd quarter of 2021.
