The true crime series Dahmer – Monster: Jeffrey Dahmer’s story about the real-life events surrounding the serial killer has come to Netflix second most successful series ever developed. The streaming hit was also controversial and confronted with serious allegations.
survivors of the victims accused Netflix, for example, of being retraumatized by such a series. Dahmer creator Ryan Murphy has now publicly commented on this.

The Dahmer team has unsuccessfully sought contact with the families of the Dahmer victims
As reported by the Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Murphy spoke about the making of the series at a series event in Los Angeles. Here he also said that he and his team before the Dahmer shoot 20 victims’ families contacted for feedback would have. Not a single person is said to have replied. As a result, he relied on the large research team, which is said to have taken care of accurate information day and night.
However, it is not known exactly how the families of the victims were contacted and in what form the exchange took place. The statement by the Dahmer creator also gives not a satisfactory answer to the basic true crime problemwhich automatically injures loved ones.
Ryan Murphy still has himself at the Dahmer event sided with the victims. When asked why there is still no official memorial, he replied:
