A Pokémon GO player took the trouble to see how good the Halloween Event Eggs actually are. He shares his results with the community.
What are these eggs? The big Halloween 2022 event is currently running in Pokémon GO and will bring some changes. You can find costume Pokémon, special bosses in raids, a special research, timed research and also modified 7 km eggs.
In the eggs, an increased chance of certain shinys was advertised. A trainer wanted to find out what was behind it.
Yield 128 Halloween Eggs
You need to know: The Halloween event 2022 runs in two parts. The trainer incubated the 128 eggs in the first part of the event.
In the event announcement, Niantic wrote:
You may also be lucky enough to encounter Shiny eF-eM in Pokémon GO for the first time. There is an increased chance that a Shiny eF-eM will hatch from these eggs.
This is the result: Trainer Goombafk writes on reddit: “From 128 eggs I hatched 0 shinys and 2 100% Pokémon. These are eF-eM and Golbit”. It then lists the number of times each Pokémon hatched from the eggs.
Commenting on the yield, Goombafk writes: “Pretty bad idea, wouldn’t recommend it. But I’ll try to keep brooding in the second half and see if my luck changes. Also, the incubators were bought before the boxes got so bad.”
How the players react: The thread was able to collect over 190 comments in just under 12 hours. One user writes, “Lesson: Eggs are never worth the time, effort, or (most importantly) the money.” Many other participants agree with this statement with their upvotes.
Another wrote: “Thanks for your post. It’s always interesting to see results. And it confirms what the majority here thinks: chasing shinies in eggs is pointless.”
