Friends darling Matthew Perry randomly chose Keanu Reeves as his target
Deadline quotes a statement by Perry:
I’m actually a huge Keanu fan. I chose a name at random, my mistake. I’m sorry. I should have used my own name.
Perry had co-directed the drama Jimmy Reardon with Phoenix. The actor died of an overdose in 1993 maintained a close friendship with Reeves, with whom he stood in front of the camera for My Private Idaho – The End of Innocence.
Readers of the book may find the apology strange. Because it is not the only place at the Perry Reeves mentioned by name in a disparaging form. About the death of comedy talent Chris Farley he writes: “I punched a hole in Jennifer Aniston’s closet when I found out. [Und] Keanu Reeves is with us.“
