Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

After almost ten years as a profiled voice on Dagens Industri, PM Nilsson is now leaving the newspaper’s editor-in-chief to instead become state secretary to Ulf Kristersson.

– I had the weekend to think about the decision. It’s something of an identity crisis, I’ve worked as a journalist and editor all my life, says PM Nilsson to Di and continues:

– What made me accept is that Sweden is in such a special situation. The whole world is in a very serious situation. And if the prime minister wants my help, it will take a lot to say no.

According to the newspaper, Prime Minister Nilsson will be given responsibility for political planning, with a focus on the issues that the prime minister has identified as long-term important for the government and the country.

– These include various types of freedom issues, for individuals, companies and capital. The tightening of the rule of law that is coming now is about increasing the freedom of honest people, he says.

Other focus areas are stated to be the security threat from Russia, the Swedish defence, Sweden’s NATO membership and the climate and environmental issue.

PM Nilsson was recruited to Di’s editorial staff in 2013. Between 1999 and 2008 he was head of the editorial staff at Expressen.
