Sarah Sjöström is one of the great giants of Swedish sports in the 21st century.
But now she is forced to fight back after the big misunderstanding that prevails.
– Many people believe that, it happens almost every day, she says in the program “Footbollmorgon”.
She has won everything that can be won and is one of Swedish sports’ most successful of all time. Sarah Sjostrom is truly a giant and has won an incredible 1 Olympic gold, 16 WC gold, 29 EC gold and taken a total of 89 championship medals over the years.
Sjöström’s break
The Swedish swimming star is still only 29 years old but recently chose to take a break from her career. Sjöström will sit out the short course WC this winter to recharge and find new energy before returning to the swimming pool again.

But the Swedish people don’t seem to have understood it properly and a big misunderstanding seems to be prevailing right now. Because all the time, people come up to Sjöström and ask the same question over and over again.
– For some reason, many people think that I have already stopped. Someone recently asked: “What are you doing these days?”. It is quite common and it happens almost every day. Even when you meet someone in the swimming pool, just when I’ve been working out. “What are you doing now? Don’t you have any competitions?”. No, not just this fall, but in six months there will be competition again, Sarah tells us when she is unexpectedly a guest on the podcast and TV program “Fotbollsmorgon”, see below.

Aiming for the Olympics
Now Sjöström must fight back against the misunderstanding and tell what really applies to his fans and the Swedish people. So it’s just a break as far as the swimming career is concerned will continue for a while longer.

The Swede’s next big goal is the Summer Olympics in Paris in 2024 and she can still find the drive and love for the sport to continue pushing her body to the limit to reach even more medals.
– It has become a habit to just do this. It’s my job. I’m used to getting up in the morning and having my routines, going to the swimming pool and doing that session there, going to the gym and then having lunch. I’m used to having those routines, but I also think it’s cool to push the limits, says the 29-year-old in the soccer program, see the full interview below.
