The association Framstegsskolan, which runs the debated free schools with the name Römosseskolan in Gothenburg, is forced to close its schools. This is announced by the Court of Appeal in a judgment.
The association’s right to conduct school activities ends at the end of the autumn semester 2022.
– This started a long time ago, when the school’s former principal took out SEK 13 million via fraudulent invoices. The money was sent to Somalia, and went, among other things, to visits to sex clubs in Thailand. The former headmaster was sentenced to over four years in prison for, among other things, gross embezzlement and serious accounting offences, reports TV4 Nyhetern’s Victoria Banozic.
The school inspectorate concluded that they did not think the school was suitable to run school activities. The school appealed. But today came the Court of Appeal’s verdict, where the school must close after the autumn term.
Unless the decision is appealed to the Supreme Administrative Court, the students must change schools after the Christmas holidays.
