The support is supposed to help people with housing – but is not used

“Marie”, whose real name is something else, received help from her municipality to move into a new apartment. She is one of roughly 2,200 people who have received help with housing since the support came.

The support, which is supposed to help people who are homeless, could actually be enough for 8,000 people. But according to information that TV4 Nyheterna has seen, few municipalities have used the support. Last year, only 89 people received help from their municipality.

– This is about ordinary people, who do not meet the requirements set by the housing companies – which are often very high, says Pernilla Parding from Stadsmissionen.
