On Wednesday, the Swedish Forestry Agency presented its analysis of the Swedish forest over a 100-year period.
The scenarios show that today’s forestry is good enough for, among other things, biodiversity. But the forest’s animals and plants need forests that are not used – and trees that are allowed to grow really old.
At the same time, more raw materials are needed from the forest, to change fossil fuels for biofuels, and plastic for paper. Can that equation be solved?
