Frida Karlsson, Maja Dahlqvist and Linn Svahn direct sharp criticism at the national skiing team.
Now the national team responds.
– It’s a bit funny that they say that today…, says national team manager Anders Byström to SVT.
It has been a turbulent spring and summer for the national skiing team, and it all has to do with the fact that three of the biggest stars – Linn Svahn, Maja Dahlqvist and Frida Karlsson – chose to leave the training group. The trio will still compete for Sweden during the winter, but run plans, training and camps all by themselves, outside of the national team’s auspices.
Great criticism
Frida Karlsson has explained it by saying that she wants to be able to control her training schedule better herself, and that above all they want more time at home. There has also been criticism of the existing agreements. At the same time, all parties have said that there are no “hard feelings”, or any conflict behind it.
But now the trio of stars, all three of whom are some of Sweden’s biggest sports stars, are sharply criticizing the national team. In an interview with Viaplay, it is believed that there is no communication at all with the national team at the moment. Something that Maja Dahlqvist calls “strange”.
– I would have been curious. I’m interested in what others do and think it’s fun to know what you do, says Dahlqvist.
She is supported by Frida Karlsson:
– It feels like they might not be interested, she says.

The national team’s response
However, the national team has said that they had contact with the trio’s coaches, and that there were follow-ups every month. Now national team manager Anders Byström responds to the criticism.
– It’s a bit funny that they say that today, because I’m on my way to Idre Fjäll and will meet them tonight. So I probably want to talk to them about that myself tonight and hear what they mean, he says.
Byström also points out this time that the national team had contact with the trio during the spring and summer.
– We have been in constant contact the whole way. We are also in contact with the trainers, their private trainers, and know how they train and we follow them in the training diary, he says.
To Aftonbladet, women’s coach Stefan Thomson says that contact is made every month with Frida Karlsson’s coach, and even more often with Maja Dahlqvist’s ditto.
