“A really well executed match from my side,” she says in a press release.
Åhlin got off to a good start in the knee event and stayed at the top before the finish in a standstill – and then she scored 195 points, something that only gold medalist Jeanette Duestad, Norway, managed, and thus secured the bronze medal in the Rifle World Cup in Cairo, Egypt.
“I worked methodically in all shooting positions and in all shots and I was well paid for that. Even though the nerves were very present the entire match, I shot very controlled from start to finish,” says Åhlin.
There could be more medals for the 31-year-old.
On Wednesday, she shoots 300 meters, 60 shots, in a prone position and then she competes together with Karl Olsson in 3×20 shots.
