He is a real profile in Swedish hockey.
Now Per-Åge Skröder reveals when he stood face to face with Tie Domi himself.
– He said: “If you do that one more time…”, Skröder tells in the latest episode of the podcast “Släpp Sargen”.
As early as 1998, he left Norway for Sweden and would then remain for almost 20 years in Swedish hockey. Per-Åge Skröder is really a real profile and has played a full 19 seasons in the Elitserien/SHL.
Double SM gold
There have been two SC golds with HV71 and Modo as well as games in five different SHL clubs in the form of Frölunda, Linköping, HV71, Södertälje and Modo. In total, it was a whopping 513 points in 856 games in the Swedish top flight for the Norwegian.

The left forward has also played over 100 international matches for Norway and represented his home country in 14 World Cup tournaments and 2 Winter Olympics over the years. In 2017, he ended his hockey career and now recalls an unforgettable memory from his time on the ice.

“Then Domi came”
It was during the 2004-2005 lockout season that Skröder played for HV71 and had the chance to face a truly star-studded group of NHL stars who toured around and played exhibition games in the absence of NHL games.
– We met them with HV, it was Tie Domi and lots of others, says the 44-year-old in the latest episode of the hockey podcast “Släpp Sargen”.
– I went into the offensive zone and in front of the goal, then (Dominik) Hasek sprints out of the goal and is about to play the puck away so I happen to “touch” him. We don’t get along, so I don’t think about it any more, but go on to change. Then Domi comes from the edge and invites me to fight because I was the goalkeeper.

Skröder really didn’t want to fight with the arch-villain Tie Domi, who did everything to find a reason to muck up a fight. Although the Norwegian did his utmost to avoid the great goalkeeper Dominik Hasek.
Dangerous words
The HV71 player would also get away with a warning and four deadly words from rawhide Domi.
– He said: “If you do that one more time, I will kill you”. And this was an exhibition match…, says Skröder in the podcast and was then faced with an unexpected dilemma.
– But the problem was that we were to play against the same group with Norway three days later. So I just thought: “Should I turn it down?”.

Today, Per-Åge Skröder can only laugh at that memory and look back on his hockey career with warmth.
– Nah, but it’s been fun to meet such players and play the Olympics against big stars. Afterwards, it’s cruel to look back on this and see what a career you’ve had, he says in the interview.
