Two more arrested in massive Woodstock drug bust

Woodstock police have charged two more people in what officials are calling the “largest drug bust” in the city’s history.

Four suspects have now been arrested in the wake of an Oct. 17 search of a Springbank Avenue home and the seizure of nearly $600,000 in suspected drugs.

During the initial arrests, two suspects – a 47-year-old Woodstock man and a 43-year-old Cambridge man – tried to flee from police in a vehicle but caused a collision. They were both nabbed after a short foot pursuit, police said.

During the search, officers confiscated an estimated $595,000 worth of suspected drugs, including 1,843 grams of cocaine, 624 grams of fentanyl, 794 grams of methamphetamine, 1,247 grams of magic mushrooms and more than 300 hydromorphone capsules, police said. The officers also seized more than $33,000 from the home, police said.

Later, officers seized a stun gun and a 2017 Jeep Wrangler.

A 47-year-old Woodstock man faces eight counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of trafficking a schedule 1 substance, possession of a prohibited device, possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order, failure to comply with a release order and possession of property obtained by crime with a value more than $5,000.

A 43-year-old Cambridge man faces three counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of trafficking a schedule 1 substance, two counts of failing to comply with a release order, possession of property obtained by crime with a value more than $5,000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police and failure to comply with a probation order.

A 24-year-old Woodstock woman faces six counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime with a value more than $5,000 and possession of a prohibited device.
