Losses of life continue to be experienced after Hurricane Roslyn made landfall at category 3 level in the city of Santiago Ixcuintla in the state of Nayarit, Mexico yesterday. Floods, landslides and storms occurred as a result of the hurricane, which was effective in some parts of the states of Sinaloa and Jalisco as well as the state of Nayarit, while the number of people who lost their lives due to the hurricane in the country increased to 4.
ROADS CLOSED TO TRANSPORT
It was stated that 1 of the people who lost their lives was a police officer who participated in the cleaning works and had a heart attack, while 2 women and an 80-year-old man lost their lives in accidents due to floods and storms.
As a result of the flood and storm caused by Hurricane Roslyn, many trees and electricity poles were knocked down in the region, while roads to some towns were closed to traffic.
136 THOUSAND PEOPLE WITHOUT ELECTRICITY
Mexico’s Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) announced that 136 thousand citizens were cut off due to damage to power lines, and more than 800 workers were working to fix the cuts. Local administrators also stated that the cleaning works are continuing in order to reopen the closed roads, remove the fallen trees and repair the clogged sewers. (UAV)
