The second model of its brand, Aiways U6, consists of blending technical values that meet the standards with an unusual design.
With the transition to electrification, we are living in days when China-based manufacturers are much more daring in their transition to the European market. The race to stand out in European operations, especially Nio, continues to bring along unexpected rivals for well-established names. Making its first move in this area in 2019 over the U5, Aiways will also introduce its second model, the U6, to the market in 2023. Aiways U6, which will start taking orders in certain regions such as Northern Europe as of November, comes with a structure that we are not used to in terms of design. The signature of Ken Okuyama, who worked at Pininfarina for a while, draws extra attention in the design of the vehicle. Okuyama has important model projects in his career including Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari California and Honda NSX (1991).

Aiways U6 specifications
Launched for the first time in the concept version within the scope of the fair held in China in 2020, the U6 draws attention as a coupe-shaped SUV. The brand’s own infrastructure architecture is used in the vehicle, which will hit the road as the second car that Aiways has brought into mass production. The model, which we saw at the first stage to be offered with a single electric motor version to be positioned only at the front, will have 215 horsepower and 315 Nm torque in these dynamics.

On the battery side, a CATL sourced unit with a capacity of 63 kWh is positioned as a standard, and there is a table that weighs 1,790 kilograms when all the elements of the model come together. The only electric motor positioned can move the U6 from 0 to 100 in a time of 6.9 seconds, which is not bad in this scenario. The maximum speed that the vehicle can reach is limited to 160 km/h. The range value of the U6, which shares a friction coefficient of 0.26 cd, is around 400 kilometers. The battery of the car, with fast charging support up to 90 kW, will be able to reach from 20 percent to 80 percent in about 30 minutes through such a source. Aiways U6, which includes active and passive driver assistance assistants in the second level of autonomous driving as standard, will be offered in Europe with a starting price of 39,000 euros.
