Actually, Eva (Tilda Swinton) has a great life. She is happily married, has exciting times jetting all over the world, lives in a beautiful house and… has a child that she seems to hate deeply. No matter what Eva does, the distance between her Kevin (Ezra Miller) and her keeps growing. Until the teenager finally did the unimaginable plans: a mass murder of his family and his classmates.
We Need to Talk About Kevin is primarily a family drama about a mother who becomes a social outcast after the greatest tragedy of her life – and still has to find a way to interact with her son, where every human emotion like a calculated trap seems. Based on a true story, a cinematic masterpiece by Lynne Ramsay that touches, shocks and is currently free to stream with no subscription required.
Ezra Miller shines alongside Tilda Swinton as a psychotic teenager – and perhaps identified a little too closely with the role

We Need to Talk About Kevin was Ezra Miller’s breakthrough acting. As Miller plays the sociopathic high school student Kevin (Miller himself defines himself as non-binary and uses gender-neutral pronouns), the character still does as well between lost boy and calculated evil changes after Kevin kills several people is impressive. And bloody scary.
This is also due to the weapon with which Kevin finally goes to his school to murder as many classmates as possible: the bow that his parents gave him as a gift. That’s why it seems macabre, to say the least, that Ezra Miller took this souvenir from the shoot with him of all things.
As the Hollywood Reporter found out in a 2018 interview, the star still keeps the murder weapon from the film. Miller is said to have even casually offered to show the journalist the gun. Creepy? Yes, but not as creepy as Miller’s development over the past few months and years, during which The Flash star has suffered multiple assaults, abusive behavior and endangerment of children was accused. In the meantime, Miller is said to have sought psychological help – possibly also in order not to further jeopardize the publication of The Flash.
