a day to better understand them and find solutions

This year, the National Day of Dys, which is held around October 10 (with events before and after depending on the location) is placed under the theme: “7 million invisible people”. A way to approach this increasingly diagnosed disorder, but not always well recognized by the general public.

In France, it is currently estimated that 6 to 8% of the population live with DYS disorders, cognitive disorders such as dyslexia (difficulty in reading and writing) but also dyspraxia (difficulty in gestures) or dysphasia (difficulty in language). Or 7 million French people diagnosed or not, children and adults who encounter difficulties on a daily basis.

A 16th edition in Paris

As every year for 16 years, a national day (October 10) is devoted to these disorders in order to participate in their recognition, learning and socialization difficulties that some children and adults may encounter.

This month of October is no exception to the rule since the French Federation of Dys is organizing for this 16th edition a big day in Paris on Saturday October 15 around three issues “Supporting the education and training paths of Dys”, ” The health and employment pathways” and finally “the presentations of tools and applications” implemented to help DYS people. Conferences, testimonials and round tables will punctuate this national colloquium.

And everywhere in France

Many actions also carried out throughout the territory will animate this day, whether in libraries and media libraries, in schools, via information caravans or among learning professionals. Find out! Because if you are concerned by the problem, no doubt, with 7 million invisibles, you are certainly not alone.
