It was the third year in a row that Public Meals Day was celebrated in several places in Sweden. The purpose of the day is to draw attention to the food and work done in public kitchens.
The municipality’s nursing homes also got to enjoy game food – there they served moose stew with chanterelles.
Background to the theme
There were several reasons why it became a game theme in Lekeberg, says meal strategist Karin Ekvall.
– We think that there is a slightly underutilized resource and a climate-smart meat alternative that is available in our local environments.
