At least 16 school children have been killed in a traffic accident in South Africa on Friday, when a minibus collided with a truck, local authorities said.
According to local media, there may be a total of 22 victims, of which 19 are children between the ages of five and twelve.
South Africa’s roads are in relatively good condition, seen in an African context. But road safety is a major problem in the country and many accidents are blamed on careless driving.
