The fact that it is becoming more expensive is of course no one happy about that in Amersfoort. But when it comes to implementation, opinions differ quite a bit. If it had been up to the political party Amersfoort2014, the officials would have moved to an existing modern office building. “But we were the only ones in favor of that,” said party chairman Menno Fousert. As far as the party is concerned, the existing town hall could also have been tackled. Everything is better than a new building, “but that has now passed the stage”, says Fousert.
