Overwatch 2 announced Season 1 of the shooter at the Tokyo Game Show 2022 and introduced a new heroine. Some players already think she might be too strong.
Which heroine is it? Overwatch 2 introduced new support hero Kiriko in a gameplay trailer.
Right at the beginning we include the trailer of the new heroine, which is worth seeing. Below the trailer we go into more detail about the skills and show where you can see them in the trailer.
Kiriko: The teleporting healer
What can Kiriko do? In Kiriko’s gameplay trailer, it can be seen that she is expected to be a support heroine, assisting her teammates. In addition, Kiriko throws so-called Ofuda talismans with which she heals her teammates (minute 00:25).
In addition to her healing ability, Kiriko also has knives, called Kunai, which she can throw at her enemies and damage them (minute 00:35).
What was particularly striking in the trailer, however, was a teleport ability, with which the heroine can even go through walls to her team members (minute 00:40). Walls are therefore rarely a challenge for the new support, because like Genji and Hanzo, she can easily climb them with her passive ability (minute 00:47).
At 00:53, we also see that Kiriko can throw a kind of bell on the ground near her allies, not only giving them a boost that apparently makes them immortal for a short time, but also removing all debuffs from them.
On top of that, Kiriko is supposed to pave the way for her teammates with her ultimate ability by giving them increased movement speed, increased attack speed, increased reload speed and a reduction in cooldowns (minute 01:11)
Overwatch 2 changes the way you get new heroes – “If you do that, I won’t touch OW2”
“Finally the supports/healers get some love!”
What are the players saying? Many players find Kiriko’s demonstrated skills impressive. While some are looking forward to her and see her as a good support heroine, other players are already worried that she might be overpowered (op = overpowered) (via YouTube).
