On Saturday, Brynäs and Rögle meet in the SHL premiere.
But before that, the competitors meet at the negotiating table.
Because right now the teams are doing business just days before the season starts, SportExpressen reports.
Brynäs has been looking for a new forward ahead of the new SHL season. Just a few days before the opening match on Saturday, it seems they have found the right thing.
SHL recruitment
The sports director Johan Alcén has found an interesting new acquisition in the premier opponent Rögle and now the clubs are in negotiations just a few days before they collide on the ice in the SHL premiere. 19 year olds William Stromgren is now rumored to be about to finish with Brynäs, SportExpressen reports.
Strömgren broke through at Modo and after just one season in the HockeyAllsvenskan he was signed to Rögle before last season. There were only six games in the debut season in the SHL and now the talent is expected to leave Ängelholm to move north.
“Must play”
Rögle already has 16 forwards in the squad and therefore it is expected that there will be a shortage of playing time for Strömgren, who will get a greater chance of ice time with Brynäs instead.
– William has to play. It’s my job to look into it, says his agent Björn Rockström to the evening paper but admits that nothing has been signed yet.
– Nothing is clear. William Strömgren is Rögle’s player. We have great respect for that and it is Rögle who owns the issue. To Rögle said something else, that’s what I really have to say.
If the signing goes through, William Strömgren can make his debut for Brynäs against his old team Rögle already on Saturday when the teams face each other in the SHL premiere. It must feel really weird.
