Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Gigoryan announced that the conflicts between Armenia and Azerbaijan had come to an end. Announcing that a ceasefire was declared between the two countries, Grigoryan said, “Thanks to the participation of the international community, it was possible to reach an agreement on a ceasefire starting from 20:00 local time on September 14. We hope that Azerbaijan will comply with this agreement.” In his statement, Grigoryan also underlined that the ceasefire was declared verbally, not in writing.

In addition, criticizing the protests launched for the resignation of Prime Minister of Yerevan, Nikol Pashinyan, Grigoryan claimed that the opposition acted under the direction of foreign powers, saying, “This is a fifth column rally aimed at weakening the Armenian state. Some groups are trying to organize a rally in order to disrupt the domestic political stability. These groups are trying to destabilize Armenia. “They are trying to weaken it and take orders from various places. We have managed to prevent the implementation of this grand plan before, and from now on, some groups are trying to restart these processes within Armenia. Their main goal is to destroy the Republic of Armenia and bring it into a state where it will be a part of a country,” he said.
