The first official FIFA 23 ratings are known and cause discussions among players. Apparently, some FIFA fans don’t agree with all values.
These are the ratings: The ratings are the stats that are used to evaluate real football stars in the game. From sprint speed to short passes to shots, headers, defensive behavior – everything is stored with numbers.
These numbers then result in a player’s overall rating. A player’s stats give an indication of how strong they are ultimately in the game.
A few slides of ratings have already been published. The values first became known through a leak on the Xbox. Then came the first official ratings, which included the values of the “FIFA Ambassadors” and the “Top 23”, as well as the new FIFA 23 icons.
But even these first values are enough to cause discussions among FIFA fans.
Fans disagree with all ratings for FIFA 23
What the players say: The ratings are discussed on social media, on Twitter or on the FIFA subreddit. Numerous players give their opinions there – and criticize some of the values.
An example of this is Tottenham forward Heung-min Son. He was the top scorer in the Premier League last season – but in the ratings, like last year, he gets an 89. A high rating that makes some players consider but would have liked an improvement in performance: “Man, what does Son have to do to get an upgrade?” criticizes a user on the FIFA subreddit.
Another example is Robert Lewandowski. He got a downgrade from 92 to 91, despite the championship and top scorer title in the Bundesliga: “My only real criticism is that Lewa scored 35 goals in 34 league games and 50 in 46 games in all competitions and somehow got a downgrade “, criticizes a user in the current top comment on the ratings in the subreddit (via. reddit). In addition, the low pace of Lewandowski is criticized.
Kylian Mbappé, on the other hand, find some rated too highly – especially compared to players like Lewandowski, Benzema, de Bruyne or Messi, who all received the same rating (91): “Putting Mbappe on the same level as Benzema is outrageous, he likes it have high potential, but he’s not on the same level as Benz/Lewa” (via reddit).
There are also a few other points of criticism.
Overall, there is a lot of discussion about the values. Fans defend some players, while on the other hand there is criticism of the ratings.
However, it should be noted: How strong the players are in the game can only be determined to a limited extent from the overall rating. After all, there are always players who fit particularly well into the current FIFA meta. An 84 attacker with speed and dribbling skills can be better than a slow 90 forward.
In this respect, the first thing to do is wait and see how the players in FIFA 23 actually do. But it won’t be that long: You can find out everything about the FIFA 23 release here.
