After 90 percent of the votes in Strömsund municipality are counted, the figures show that the Social Democrats are still the largest party with 37 percent. However, they have lost 8.2 percent of voters compared to the last election.
The moderates, on the other hand, make a lift as the second largest party with 21.3 percent, an increase of 10.6 percent.
Both M and S are too small for their own majority and now the parties are waiting for the last votes to be counted, before a negotiation period with the other parties begins.
– We have had a good election campaign and are met with positive comments, then the result has not been what we wanted, says Susanne Hansson (S), municipal councilor.
– We have worked very hard for it and it is fun that the result points in this direction, says Simon Högberg (M), group leader.
