At the latest in Thor 4: Love and Thunder Chris Hemsworth’s upper arms almost looked like their own main characters. For Taika Waititi’s MCU sequel, the Marvel star trained harder than ever and pumped up his body massively.

If he returns in his signature Thor role in the future, but Hemsworth wants to shift down a few gears.

Chris Hemsworth is starting to feel too old for Thor extreme training

As reported by Screen Rant, the Marvel star speaks in the new Thor 4 documentary on Disney+ about not wanting to train so hard for his Thor role in the future:

Every time I’ve played the character and put on muscle and weight and then lost it for another role, there’s muscle memory, and I’ve always said that it just kind of got easier each time. This time it was particularly hard. I think because the target weight we were aiming for was way above what I was before. We had 12 months when I was home just working out and kind of, you know, controlling the body like a puppet and manipulating and thought, ‘Okay, we could swim more now or try more martial arts. It was a really fun exploration, but I don’t know if I want to get that big again. But I was kind of… It was… Yes, it was just exhausting. I do not know, maybe i’m getting oldbut things just started to hurt more.” Is Thor 5 coming in the MCU?

So far there are no plans for a Thor return in the MCU. A fifth part is not announced yet and also in the planned MCU calendar to 2025, the thunder god does not appear. A surprising appearance or a small supporting role in the future are still possible.
