Here are all the details of the breaking news…

OFFICIAL RESULTS MAY TAKE WEEKS TO BE ANNOUNCED

Voting in Sweden started at 08:00 local time and ended at 20:00. The ballot box exit results were expected to be announced at 21:00 local time. Following this initial estimate, provisional results will be announced after all votes have been counted. It is stated that it may take weeks before the official results are announced.

Eight political parties are currently represented in the parliament in Sweden, with 349 seats in the parliament.

In the comments made in the Swedish press before the general election, there was a view that the left bloc would win the election narrowly and that it would be difficult to form the government even after long negotiations.

While the Social Democratic Party, the Greens and Environment Party and the Left Party were in the left bloc, the Center Party in the right bloc decided to participate in this election from the left bloc by declaring that there would be no government formed with the extreme right-wing Sweden Democrats Party (SD).

The right-wing bloc also includes the moderate Conservative Party, the Christian Democratic Party, the Liberal Party and the Sweden Democrats Party. Although the SD is shown in the right-wing bloc, other right-wing parties refrain from cooperating with the SD.

THE SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY WAS RECEIVED THE MOST VOTES IN THE ELECTIONS IN 2018 IN SWEDEN

In the last general election held on September 9, 2018 in Sweden, where the turnout was 87 percent, the Social Democratic Party became the first party with 28.6 percent of the vote.

The moderate Conservative Party in the main opposition was also in second place with 19.84 percent.

After these results, the Social Democratic Party and the Greens and Environment Party formed a minority left government and held this position for 3 years.

After the Greens and Environment Party withdrew from the government in 2021, the Social Democratic Party continued on its own. (AA)
