Like any element of the body, the blood can also be sick. Discover the different blood diseases (white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets).

Your blood is living tissue made up of liquid and of solid. The liquid part, called plasma, is made up of water, salts and proteins. More than half of your blood is plasma. The solid part of your blood contains Red cellsof the white blood cells and pads.
Blood diseases and disorders affect one or more parts of the blood and prevent your blood from doing its job. Many diseases and blood disorders are caused by Genoa. Other causes include other blood diseases, medication side effects, and lack of certain nutrients in your diet. The most common blood disorders areanemia and bleeding disorders such as hemophilia.
There are a large number of blood diseases, also called haemopathies. However, they can be classified according to the element of the blood concerned :
white blood cell diseases
- leukopenia, or low white blood cell count;
- leukocytosis, or increased white blood cell count;
- leukemiaabnormal multiplication of white blood cells (cancer).
Red blood cell diseases
- anemia, or low concentration of hemoglobin ;
- polycythemiaor overproduction of red blood cells;
- microspherocytosis, an abnormal shape of red blood cells;
- hemoglobinopathy, or abnormal form of hemoglobin.
platelet diseases
- thrombocytopeniadecrease in the number of platelets;
- hyperplatelettosis, increase in the number of platelets.
There are also diseases of the non-figured elements of the blood, i.e. proteins or molecules contained in plasma. Examples include haemophilia,hypercholesterolemiathe diabetes…
