The Twitch sharing mode, which allows Twitch streamers to share other people’s broadcasts on their channels, will be removed next month.
Twitch sharing mode is disappearing. Sharing mode will be changed to “Recommended Channels” system. As of next month, Twitch streamers will not be able to open a sharing mode to their friends’ channels with fewer viewers after their broadcasts are over. This method was of great benefit in terms of the recognition of channels with few viewers.
Twitch sharing mode to be removed in October
Twitch’s reasoning behind this decision was that the referred viewer could not “interact” with the shared streamer;
“We are removing this feature because the experience it offers to viewers does not meet the expectations of users from Twitch. Viewers want to be able to interact with streamers, but Twitch sharing mode prevents this. Limiting viewers’ interaction with the shared streamer also makes it difficult for the said streamer to grow because they cannot interact with twitch users. “
The reason behind Twitch’s decision to make this decision is, to put it mildly, a strange excuse. Because the sharing mode already works when the main streamer is offline, and if the Twitch viewer wants to contact the shared streamer, all he has to do is switch to his channel. Various publishers, of course, found this decision absurd. The view is that the decision is extremely unnecessary and will make it difficult for small publishers to grow.
