It started well for Fredrik Lindgren, who after two races collected a win and a third place. But then the fall began.
In the remaining two races, he was both last and second last. A win was then required in his last heat, but instead Lindgren came last there as well and had to wave goodbye to a semi-final place in the Danish Vojens.
The result is something that the 2020 bronze medalist cannot be satisfied with.
Someone who impressed, as usual, was Polish Bartosz Zmarzlik, who before the competition in Vojens had the overall lead and the speedway WC in an iron grip.
It started shaky for the Pole, but the further into the competition he got, he showed that he is the best when it counts.
The win means that Zmarzlik can already secure the gold in Sweden on September 17 when the speedway WC comes to Målilla – despite a journey remaining in his home country of Poland.
Danish home jumper Leon Madsen finished third and thus just over his second place overall.
