When is Kill Bill 3 coming

Quentin Tarantino has refrained from doing any sequels throughout his career. The American director, who became known through Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, prefers to focus on original material that breathes new life into parts of film history. The only exception is his two-part Kill Bill epic.

Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Kill Bill: Volume 2 were released a year apart, even though Tarantino originally wrote the revenge epic planned as a big movie would have. In the end, a clear cut was made and the story shared. Since then, fans have been wondering if Uma Thurman will return as Beatrix Kiddo.

  • Today on TV: Kill Bill: Volume 2 airs tonight at 10:55 p.m. on ProSieben. Amazon* has both parts in one Blu-ray box.
  • Quentin Tarantino has very specific ideas for Kill Bill 3

The Kill Bill: Volume 3 questions can be traced back to the 2000s. Already in the course of the publication of the first two parts in 2003 and 2004, Tarantino commented on the possibility of the bloodthirsty spectacle expand into a trilogy. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he even revealed the plot.

At first I thought this was my dollar trilogy. I wanted to shoot a new part every ten years. But I need at least 15 years before I can do it again. I already have one complete mythology considered: Sofie Fatale gets all the money from Bill. She will raise Nikki and she will take on the bride. Nikki deserves her revenge just like the bride deserves hers.

Despite the concrete ideas, Kill Bill: Volume 3 has not been officially announced to date. Does that mean the project is dead? The answer is… complicated. Last but not least, Tarantino loves to talk about potential films, even if he never makes them, from the pulp fiction offshoot The Vegas Brothers to his Star Trek film.

He also regularly talks about Kill Bill. In the meantime, Tarantino even planned two Anime movies from revenge universe, not to mention that in addition to Kill Bill: Volume 3, he also brought up Kill Bill: Volume 4 with Thurman. So far, however, none of the projects has taken concrete shape.

Tarantino’s statements on whether or not he’s making Kill Bill: Volume 3, change from year to year. Sometimes it’s a promise, sometimes a rejection. Most recently, he was particularly taken with an idea: Should Thurman return as Beatrix Kiddo, her own daughter, Maya Hawke, could embody her film daughter, BB. Meanwhile, some fans are hoping for Zendaya to play Nikki, who seeks revenge for the death of her mother, Vernita Green.

The thing is, while there’s plenty of storytelling and talent, Tarantino is making his career as a director finish after ten films. Theoretically, he has already reached these ten films. However, since he considers Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Kill Bill: Volume 2 to be one work, there is still one place left on his list.

Since Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood, the film world has been puzzled as to which of the last film by Quentin Tarantino will be. Kill Bill: Volume 3 is a good choice. With the epilogue to one of his most formative stories, he could say goodbye to the cinema in the coming years. We’ll have to wait and see if that really happens.
