Now, non-profit organizations that want to contribute to the operations of the Correctional Service next year can apply for state grants, according to the authority.
“Criminal care supports non-profit organizations that engage with our clients to promote a crime-free life. Together with civil society, we have a greater chance of making a difference for those who need it,” says Bengt Nilsson, manager at the Prison Service’s parole department, in a press release.
Organizations that may be relevant must be nationwide and the activities must be connected to correctional services in one way or another.
This year, SEK 20 million has been distributed between 16 organisations.
The government decides at the end of 2022 how much money will be distributed next year. Decisions on who will receive grants will be made by the Correctional Service at the beginning of 2023.
